Rockstar Games is perhaps one of the most iconicdevelopers we've seen in gaming over recent memory.
While all their titles have been a massive hit, their latest GTA Defentive Edition was lackluster compared to other ones.
The poor reception that these games warrrented could've detered Rockstar from moving ahead with remasters for other titles such as Red Dead Redemption 1 and GTA 4.
GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption Remasters May Have Been Cancelled Due To GTA Definitive Edition
While the remakes of GTA Vice City, GTA 3, and GTA San Andreas were amazing ideas at first glance, the product itself was rather flat faced.
It didn't have that signature Rockstar Games polish, and fans of the series were rather dissapointed with the product that was put out to them.
Now, one notable leaker Tez2, has noted that this could've been the reason behind Rockstar axing other remasters they had ideas of.
They noted that these were ideas floating around Rockstar Games itself, and they would've been greenlighted if the Defentive Edition was precieved well.
So, I guess we'll have to wait and see if these remakes are ever going to happen!
Remasters of IV & RDR1 weren't in production, simply in the ideas phase and remained there for years.— Tez2 (@TezFunz2) July 4, 2022
Rockstar's plan was to start with the Trilogy and follow up with IV & RDR1.
The decision to greenlight more depended on the initial reception of the Trilogy.
