Mini but mighty

With our brand new Vulcan II Mini now out in the wild, consumers and reviewers have been putting our 65% keyboard to the test. As far as gaming keyboards are concerned, this one is one of our best and the first in our new Vulcan II line.

This Optical-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard packs durability, performance, and functionality, providing much more space for sweeping mouse movements. It also debuts our new ultra-fast linear Titan II optical switches and utilises our Easy-Shift [+] technology (for programmable function layers) with Smart Keys to indicate when secondary functions are active.

So what do the reviews say about our small but mighty friend? Here's a round-up of the reviews for the Vulcan II Mini.

Vulcan II Mini Review Round-Up

Digital Chumps - 10/10

Digital Chumps highlights how just because you're losing parts of the keyboard, you don't need to lose out on functionality or have keys squashed together.

"The ROCCAT Vulcan II Mini is a beautiful keyboard that proves that smaller doesn’t have to mean you lose anything outside of the obvious keypad. Its perfect portability that has great key spacing and a comfortable and satisfying mechanical feel to the typing experience. Its customization options through the ROCCAT Swarm software give gamers the right amount of personal style and pizazz while also flexibility in their key configuration."

Windows Central - 4/5

Windows Central applauds the vibrant RGB on display and our implementation of secondary features, so you don't miss out on key functions.

"The dual-LED switches are the star of this vibrant show, and Roccat should be applauded for illuminating the secondary features of every key. Competitors should note that even some of the best gaming keyboards miss this seemingly obvious feature. Customizing the keycaps is easy enough, thanks to a standard cross-style connection on the Titan II switches. Unfortunately, you can't swap out the switches themselves, but they're the standout reason to buy the Vulcan II Mini, so it shouldn't be much of an issue."

Games Reviews - 9.5/10

Gamereviews mentions how having a smaller keyboard makes for more desk space and thus place your hands at much more natural angles.

"Personally, I enjoy a highly angled keyboard when engaging in FPS games like CSGO and Valorant. Having a shorter keyboard means that I can let my hands rest at much more natural angles in the same desk space than compared to a full-size keyboard. This, in combination with the comfortable keys and added function keys, make the Vulcan II Mini a true contender for the seasoned marathon gamer. At the end of the day, I continue to be impressed with the value price points, and high quality of ROCCAT’s gaming accessories. There are some who maintain an allegiance to one of the prior industry giants, and to those, I would suggest you take a look at giving ROCCAT products a try. They may very well surprise and impress you, as I certainly know they have done both for me!"

PC Mag - 4/5

Meanwhile PC Mag loved the RGB implementation, Easy Shfit functionality and third-party keycap compatibility.

"The Vulcan II Mini continues Roccat’s streak of high-quality computer accessories, impressing us with its RGB implementation and wide range of functions. It’s an excellent peripheral despite its lack of wireless options. Sure, its clicks might not be as satisfying as those offered by the Corsair K70 RGB Pro Mini, but it stands key-to-key with many of today’s best keyboard offerings."

Movies, Games And Tech

Movies, Games And Tech are big fans of the keyboard noting how it's easy to set up, while also being comfortable, responsive and a joy to work with.

"Recommending a £100+ gaming accessory isn’t as easy as it sounds. Why? Well, anything over £100 is a hefty investment. However, like every other ROCCAT product I’ve looked at, I’m not disappointed with what I’ve experienced. Out of the box, this device worked perfectly and was a pleasure to use. With a little trial and error, I could connect it with my AIMO-enabled devices, and set up each user profile to my liking. What’s more, for everyday usabilities such as emails or web browsing, it was comfortable, responsive, and a joy to work with.

I asked myself whether this stands out from the crowd, and the answer is yes! It looks fantastic, is built to last, and is unbelievably responsive. Moreover, it is designed for third-party cross-mount key caps; it has been tested for a massive 100 million keystrokes and has 30 multi-function smart keys. On top of this, its 1.4mm actuation is unbelievably responsive and keeps you ahead of your competitors."

Latest Game Stories

Latest Game Reivews gives a glowing review, stating this keyboard is the "new standard".

"I can say that this Mini keyboard has become my new standard, coming from using one with a 60% layout, this Vulcan II Mini Although it has a lightness of more keys, it is still somewhat compact, quite thin and with keys that give much to envy. All these mentioned features make it the perfect judgment at its introductory price ($149.99 MSRP) making this the most affordable keyboard in my opinion."
