Changes are coming

Most Call of Duty fans are well aware of the prestige system that has been a staple within the games multiplayer for numerous years now.

Since Warzone's release, they've intergrated this feature into the popular battle royale, and while it hasn't been perfect, it's been fine for most players.

Well now, the Warzone developers have teased the notion that they're going to be reworking the system.

Warzone Developers Tease Prestige Rework

The tease came from a developer Q&A with popular Warzone streamer Swagg, held with two fo the Warzone developers. During this session, he noted that there's no real point in leveling up in Warzone, and there isn't any incentives to prestige like in previous CODs.

"It’s almost pointless to even really care. That’s one thing that’s really missed. Just wanting to level up. There’s no reason to want to level up."

Josh Bridge, who is the Warzone Creative Lead responded to these comments with the following.

"Now looking it at, on the plus [side], it doesn’t feel as intimidating for someone that’s been disengaged for a while at the start of a season, because we’re all at the same starting point."

To Swagg's surprise, and many Warzone fans around the world, they're actually looking at revamping the system already as Bridge commented "That’s something you’re going to see in the future, a revision is the best way to describe it."

"We absolutely want to deliver on the value of what Prestige means and the rewards that you get with it, so that you’re not just purely watching numbers tick."

While this is mearly a tease, we're amped to finally see the prestige system hopefully return to what it once meant to COD fans, and we'll have to wait and see how this plays out in the coming weeks!
