Overwatch 2 is releasing soon worldwide, and with Blizzard shutting down the servers for the original Overwatch soon, players are finally getting into the groove for the new release.

However, with the release of OW2, fans of the series will quickly have to become situated with unlocking heroes, instead of having the full arsenal ready to use on day one.

Here's how to unlock characters in OW2.

As noted above, yes you'll need to unlock certain characters within Overwatch 2, and this will primarly be done via in-game challenges for certain ones.

However, you'll have access to characters as soon as the game begins, however we don't know at the time which ones will be avaliable.

In terms of unlocking characters, players will need to complete challenges for specific ones, and we can assume this will take some time.

As Blizzard has noted, in order to dive into ranked, you're going to need all 32 original characters unlocked before diving into Ranked.

But, don't be worried, as Blizzard has further commented that this entire process will take players around 100 matches!
