New Skins

Overwatch 2 has now released worldwide, and Blizzard's latest entry into the series has improved in all aspects compared to it's original release.

With Overwatch Season 2 now out in the wild, there's been a large conversation around the rank reset in Season 2, and Blizzard aims to fix this.

Here's what we know!

Overwatch 2 Competitive Changes Are Coming According To Developers

Unlike other titles, Overwatch 2's ranked play didn't entirely reset your rank when the new season released, as instead players were soft-reset.

In which, we mean they scaled back their ranking a little bit, but it's been drastically inconsistent for players, as some aren't getting pushed back at all, while some are seeing massive decreases in their rank.

Below is what Blizzard has noted on the on-going issue and it appears they'll be patching it very soon.

“When a season begins, we apply some rank decay to all roles, and over the course of a season players should climb back to ranks that represent their true skill level. That being said, all match-made games will still be based on your underlying MMR, ensuring we’re making matches as fair as possible.”
