Vanguard is now available for players around the world on a number of platforms to enjoy and one weapon that has proven to be popular in its early life is the Automation.

This Russian rifle, also known as the Fedorov Avtomat, is a select-fire, crew-served automatic rifle and also one of the world's first operational automatic rifles. Despite being majorly developed in the early 1900s, it saw little combat action in World War I and was mainly used in the Russian Civil War and Winter War; it was re-issued in 1940 for World War II.

This weapon is undoubtedly one of the strongest in the game thanks to its high accuracy and low recoil.

Best Automation Class for Vanguard

With a staggering, 10 attachments to pick on your weapon, you're truly spoilt for choice.
When choosing your attachments, you'll want to consider what attachments will improve this weapon's weak areas and how you tend to play.
The Automation is a fantastic weapon straight out of the box and needs few attachments to compete with the likes of the STG-44.
It's mobile, has low levels of recoil and really packs a punch. Where it falls short at times is during sustained fire, the weapon will become more difficult to control at range.

This setup is tailored for control over long distances without impacting its mobility.
Your Muzzle choice comes unlocked after only a few minutes and is one of the most beneficial without impacting the weapon in other areas. You could try the F8 Stabilizer, but the weapon does fantastically at range as it is.
Your Barrel choice can be complicated because you're going to need to sacrifice some areas to get more damage and control. While the weapon will lose some Damage, it dramatically increases its effective damage range, vital damage, improves ADS speed and horizontal recoil control.
Your Optic comes down to preference in my opinion, but if in doubt, the Slate Reflector is a solid, clean choice. You can experiment with other sights such as the M19 4.0X Flip to give you the best of both.
With only three options, your Stock choice is an easy one with the Anastasia Padded bringing the most benefit, only impacting your Idel Sway Control.
If you're finding a lot of weapons are out gunning you, you may want to try the 6.5MM Sakura 75 Round Drums Magazine. However, I don't think you'll need the large magazine considering the impact it has on your weapon in other areas, so I would opt for no magazine.
The only logical option for your Underbarrel is the M1941 Hand Stop, that continues to improve recoil control at the expense of some hip fire accuracy.
Of all the Ammo Types, Lengthened is a classic, increasing the Bullet Velocity by 30% to ensure you really pack a punch at range.
I'd pair this weapon with the Polymer Rear Grip, which has no drawbacks, but improves recoil control and flinch resistance.
Your Proficiency depends on what other attachments you have. If you opted for the larger magazine, your reload speed will be slower so you may want to go with Sleight of Hand. Equally, with just 25 rounds in a magazine, you may find you run out of ammo fast and need a quick reload. However, Tight Grip is also great for more reliable accuracy during sustained fire (should you need more control).
Lastly, your Kit is again dependant on you and what you're trying to achieve. If you've maxed out your weapon and have no use for Surplus, go with Fully Loaded.

Secondary

I would go with the Machine Pistol as it's a fast firing, reliable option when you need a quick weapon swap.

Lethal & Tactical

This is always a preference call, but for me having a Frag Grenade available to follow up on any enemies that may have evaded me is always helpful. I also like running the Stim for a quick heal, so I can get back into the fight.

Perks

  • Ghost
  • Piercing Vision
  • Lightweight

Ghost will keep you off the enemy radar while Piercing Vision will highlight any pesky enemies that try to evade your fire. It will also give your team a good idea of where enemies are. Perk 3 is a tough choice, I've found good success with Double Time so I can get across open spaces faster and faster crouch movement speed is always handy with an AR.

Field Upgrade

  • Dead Drop

With a gun like this, you really can run anything you want. Dead Silence is a solid choice for modes that rely more heavily on sound. But Dead Drop is great because with this loadout you should go on lots of small killstreaks that you can combine to reach bigger ones.
